Gloucester Hornets U11 Boys crowned Ottawa Coliseum Indoor Champions for 2010

On the heels of 2 consecutive excellent summer seasons (U9 ERSL Champions and U10 ERSL Vice-Champions), the Gloucester Hornets U11 Boys concluded their indoor regular season at the top of the U11 League ahead of OSU Force 99 and Nepean Hotspurs.  This was another excellent opportunity for the players to showcase their skills, winning the league with a record of 11 Wins, 3 Draws, 1 Loss and a Goal Difference of 39 goals.

The regular season was followed by a 4-team playoff to decide the indoor Championship. Hornets came out very strong against 4th placed team El Potrero (St Anthonys) in the Semi-Final.  This was a one-sided game with a very convincing 8-1 win for the Hornets, a great start to the playoffs.  Finals was played against Nepean Hotspurs (3rd placed team in the indoor league) who surprised OSU Force 99 with a 4-3 win in the other Semi-Final.

Final was indeed played with a high level of intensity with both teams driven and hungry for the win. Nepean Hotspurs proved to be an excellent opponent, fighting until the final whistle.  However, Hornets proved to be stronger holding to their lead and winning 3-2.

With the indoor Season closing and the Summer 2010 Assessment around the corner, Coaching staff wants to thank all Parents for their support and congratulate the U11 Team for their hard work all season and the quality of football they all displayed, “wowing” the crowds every game.  The players were true ambassadors of the beautiful game certainly by the competencies they exhibited but also by their attitude on and off the pitch and fair-play.  Many parents, spectators and opponents have expressed their joy to see them play.

Joga Bonito!!!!!
